Dear SFAC 2006 participant,

If you did not fill out and return the questionnaire at the conference, please do so online at the following link:

http://people.bu.edu/wonglab/survey/index.html

Please try to fill out the online questionnaire no later than July 1, 2006.

It should only take a few minutes, and we need this data for our report to NSF. You will be receiving more details about the Langmuir special issue, which will be a special issue in honor of Jacob Israelachvili's work. The target date is February 2007 for submissions, and should be an original contribution (i.e. treated as any other publication you would submit).

Thank you for your cooperation,

SFAC 2006 organizers

The organizers for this International Workshop are delighted to invite you to celebrate the work of Professor Jacob Israelachvili.

To apply for a fellowship: March 1, 2006
To submit an abstract: March 1, 2006

To receive the discount registration fee you need to register completely by March 1, 2006. After this date, the registration fees will increase by $50.

Guests are Welcome! Each person needs to be registered separately at the registration page.

The goal of this international workshop is to bring together scientists that are international leaders in measuring and analyzing surface forces and interfacial phenomena to provide a unique training experience for students, postdoctoral researchers and investigators who are at early stages in their career to interact and learn from pioneers in the field.

The objectives of this workshop are to bring together a wide range of the leading scientists who have worked measuring nanoscale forces, and disseminate their experiences to the young generation of researchers. This will enhance the interest of students in surface science and surface materials interactions throughout their career.

A Special Issue of Langmuir on the topic of "Intermolecular Forces" in conjunction with this workshop is going to be published with majority of manuscripts solicited from workshop speakers and participants.(Additional articles may be invited from other leaders in the field.) This would be an entire, full-length issue of Langmuir. All articles would be peer-reviewed in accordance with the usual standards of Langmuir, and it is anticipated that the issue would constitute an important collection of high-impact scientific results.
